Duncan has always enjoyed painting and after his art foundation course he went to Birmingham to study for his degree specialising in illustration. As a freelance illustrator he worked for The Bass Museum in Burton upon Trent and then became their graphic designer and web site co-ordinator. This encouraged him to set up his own art, craft and design shop in Newhall, Swadlincote, Derbyshire called Inspiration House where he continues to paint for exhibitions in the UK and South Africa as well as specially commissioned pieces of artwork.
